Missoula offers a weekday evening market alongside Saturday shopping, and food-bank grocery hours that extend into the evening on several days. The right time and destination depend on what you need.

Shop by the growing season

At the north end of Higgins, beside the red XXXXs and railroad tracks, the Missoula Farmers’ Market follows a calendar that changes in autumn. Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from May through September, then 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in October. A second market runs Tuesday evenings, 5 to 7 p.m., June through September. These times belong to this market, not every market in Missoula.

Its seasonal guide gives you a way to plan without expecting the same basket each week: vegetable starts and greens in spring, summer fruit and vegetables, then squash, apples and garlic in fall. Meat, eggs and mushrooms are also part of the market’s food offering. Ask a grower what is ready now and what is likely to follow. For a larger purchase, ask about reserving a quantity and collecting it later rather than assuming a stall can fill a standing order.

A grocery visit that fits your day

The Missoula Food Bank & Community Center Store is at 1720 Wyoming Street. Its posted grocery hours extend to 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; Wednesday and Friday finish at 1 p.m. Check holiday closures before travelling.

You can shop the available groceries or request a pre-packed Grab-and-Go cart on the intake form if time is tight. Tell the team about dietary needs or limits on cooking facilities so they can help you choose useful food.

For help with benefits or school-meal applications, the food bank also offers application assistance, including scheduled SNAP support. Ask about the current process rather than assuming grocery collection and benefit applications use the same appointment. If you plan to spend benefits at a market, confirm that market’s payment and token arrangements before choosing food.
