The Commodity Supplemental Food Program gives low-income Montanans aged 60 and above a monthly package of USDA foods such as fruit, vegetables, juice, cheese, milk, canned meat and fish, beans, peanut butter, cereal, pasta and rice, worth about $85 a box, to supplement what they already eat. Local agencies take applications for the counties they serve.

Find the CSFP eligibility office for your county on the DPHHS page and call it about the application; the offices and the counties they serve are listed below. DPHHS says you will be told within ten days after the local agency receives your correctly completed and signed application whether you are approved, placed on a waiting list or ineligible, and you may appeal a denial. If your area is not served by CSFP, DPHHS points to Montana Food Bank Network partner agencies and to SNAP.
