Make the most of market morning
The Great Falls Original Farmers’ Market runs downtown on Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., from the first Saturday in June through the last Saturday in September. Use the organizer’s current notices to plan a visit and check any changes before travelling from outside town.
A market conversation can help with more than today’s shopping. If you want food for a gathering, a regular kitchen order or a freezer purchase, tell the seller your quantity, timing and storage limits. Ask whether they accept advance orders, where collection takes place and whether the quoted price is per package, pound or case. A seller being present at the Saturday market does not establish weekday access or delivery to another town.

The Great Falls Community Food Bank supplies a network of pantries and meal programs. Its instructions for households begin with Opportunities Inc., which collects information and assigns a pantry through a food voucher. Confirm that pantry’s address and collection hours after the referral; the food bank’s warehouse hours are not household grocery-pickup hours.
Opportunities Inc.’s Community Resource Center is at 1123 Central Avenue. Call 406-216-2300 to ask about food assistance and the information needed for your visit. Its published list includes adult photo identification, household Social Security cards, recent income evidence and proof of residence. Ask what applies to your request, especially if documents are missing.
The food bank also links other community food options and Montana 211. If the voucher route cannot meet your immediate need, use those resources to look for another program and contact that provider directly.
