Market shopping changes venues and seasons in the Gallatin Valley. For food support, Bozeman has groceries and a prepared-meal option at Market Place, while Belgrade has a separate mobile distribution stop.

Plan around the season

A Tuesday evening in Lindley Park and a winter Saturday at the fairgrounds are two different ways to shop the Gallatin Valley. The Bozeman Farmers Market runs June 16 through September 8 in 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. at 900 East Main Street. Its vendor list is a useful starting point for finding growers and food makers before you go.

The Bozeman Winter Farmers’ Market keeps a separate calendar and advertises market mornings at the fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to noon. Check the next listed date before making the trip: “almost every Saturday” leaves room for breaks. The change in venue also means a summer shopping routine will not automatically carry into winter.

If you find a farm you want to buy from regularly, ask how ordering works between market days. A weekly bag, a seasonal share and an individual purchase involve different commitments. Confirm the pickup town, the number of collections, the total price and what happens if you miss a week. Living in Belgrade does not establish that a Bozeman seller delivers there.

Groceries or a prepared meal

HRDC’s food assistance page connects several distinct options. Gallatin Valley Food Bank and the Fork & Spoon pay-what-you-can restaurant are both at Market Place, 206 E Griffin Drive in Bozeman. Choose the food bank for groceries or check Fork & Spoon for a prepared meal; everyone is welcome at the restaurant regardless of ability to pay.

Belgrade has its own mobile food distribution at Peace Lutheran Church. HRDC describes it as typically the second and fourth Mondays, 4 to 5 p.m.; use its linked calendar to check the actual date. That local stop may be more useful than beginning with a trip into Bozeman. Ask the provider directly about the next distribution and what to bring.
