Billings
Billings has several ways to get food home: a Thursday produce stop in South Park, Saturday shopping downtown, and a food hub that takes orders through the year. If you need grocery help, there is also a local food room where you choose what your household can use.

A Thursday stop at South Park
The Healthy By Design Gardeners’ Market meets on Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m., June 11 through October 1 in 2026. Enter from South 28th Street and Seventh Avenue South, on the park’s eastern edge.
This market makes room for backyard growers as well as established sellers. Vendors bring food they have produced themselves; the organizer requires annual orientation and advance contact, but lists no vendor fee or long-term commitment. What is on the tables will change. Ask a grower what they brought and how they use it at home.
For a Saturday morning visit, the Yellowstone Valley Farmers Market gathers under Skypoint at North Broadway and Second Avenue North. Its 2026 season runs July 18 through October 3, from 8 a.m. to noon. Check the organizer’s vendor information before going for something specific.
When you want to order ahead
Yellowstone Valley Food Hub’s shopping guide gives the ordering window, pickup locations and delivery charges. Online orders open Wednesday at 11 a.m. and close Tuesday at 11:50 p.m. At its West End location, 2115 Lampman Drive, Suite A, online-order pickup is Thursday 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. or Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Friday retail market stays open until 3 p.m.; that is a different window from order pickup. Confirm your collection choice and charges with the hub before ordering. Its current page says CSA enrollment is closed.
The hub’s own story begins with producers working together to reach households. It credits Swanky Roots founder Veronnaka Evenson with helping the cooperative grow and says its first orders were packed at her greenhouse. These are people behind an outside shopping route, not a promise that a particular farm’s food is available today.
Choosing groceries when money is tight
Family Service’s Client Choice Food Room is at 3927 First Avenue South. Food-room visits run Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and may be made every seven days as needed. Read its document checklist and scheduling information before going. Call 406-259-2269 to check holiday opening before travelling, or if you have questions about missing documents or your circumstances.
The Billings Food Bank is another option, at 2112 Fourth Avenue North. It takes applications in person and publishes different document requirements. Call 406-259-2856 to check its process before travelling. A requirement at one provider is not a rule for every food service in Billings.
Market purchases and hub orders are arranged with those sellers. Food assistance is arranged directly with the provider. These links do not establish a Hopa partnership or approved BLFMT inventory.
